Passed the GCIH

Back in April, I took SEC504 online and paid extra for on-demand access (offered at a discount during the class) for another crack at the CTF (my team did get a challenge coin). In September, I passed the Cert after going back through all the material via the On-demand in August.

I do kick myself for not doing the PowerShell and Linux Olympics, the practice tests, and the CTF. But I ran out of time. I finished my index the night before the exam. I couldn’t even get it printed or bound because FedEx Office closes at 7 pm around here. I’m sure I would have scored higher if I had taken one of the practice tests.

I like the old logos (see my GOSI and GCTI posts for how they used to look) a little better.

I know many consider me well past the foundation SEC504 course and GCIH-level cert, skill-wise. However, this was a bucket list item for me. I’ve wanted this cert since around 2008; over time, the reason changed, but it is still nice to prove I know the material, besides people learning while working with me.
